One of the most important decisions you have to make after finding out you’re pregnant is choosing the perfect name for the baby. Everyone has their own idea of what a great name is, sometimes it’s as simple as what’s trendy or based on the top 10 names for the country in the baby’s year of birth, sometimes it’s a surname that honors you Favorite relative, and sometimes it’s just a name that the mom (or dad) really likes. Occasionally chosen baby names have
cultural significance. This often happens with popular boy names as they are in fashion for a certain period of time and then the trend changes allowing you to place babies with these names in a specific decade. To a lesser extent, movies can influence these trends, as certain TV shows have characters with “other” names that parents like, thus adding them to the list of potential babies
Names. However, there are exceptions as there are some baby names that are timeless and have been passed down through the generations in the family. Whether or not to name the baby before birth is a matter of personal preference. There are parents who decide what their baby will be named from the moment they confirm the pregnancy, and in some cases they know what baby names they will choose even before they are pregnant! Then there are another
parents who wait until the baby is born before naming it.
Sometimes it’s because they can’t agree on a name or haven’t found one that suits them, or sometimes they just want to see how the baby looks before naming them. After the baby is born, you still have time to choose the perfect baby name for your baby. Even if the name was set months before the birth, it’s possible that the name will change after you see the baby. When you first see and hold your baby in your arms, you may find that the
name you’ve chosen doesn’t seem to match the baby you’re looking at.
Perhaps the baby has more delicate features than the chosen bold name suggests, or vice versa. It’s also possible that there is someone who helped bring about the baby that you wish to honor by naming your baby after them and this will not be known until after the birth. Take the time to choose the perfect name for your baby and don’t be afraid to change your mind at the last minute if you don’t think it’s entirely appropriate, after all, your baby will be
that name for a long time wear!
